Born and raised in Burlington, Ontario, Andrew Mactaggart is an accomplished, versatile and sought-after musician.  Finding inspiration from the Beatles and Buddy Holly, Andrew’s musical roots are in country guitar, a genre that he has explored and analyzed every aspect thereof.   His years of performing on stage, in studio and on screen have made him a master of his trade and a first choice to backup country and pop artists alike, including Brian Melo, Tomi Swick, Jason McCoy, Dallas Smith, Kira Isabella, Small Town Pistols, Tim Hicks, Tebey and Madeline Merlo

While behind a guitar is home for Andrew, he is a multi-instrumentalist, proficient at playing the mandolin and lap steel guitar as well. Music is Andrew’s life, a path that not only lead to a successful career in music, but one that also lead him to his future wife, Suzie McNeil. In summer 2019 Andrew was asked to rejoin Tim Hick's band, playing the CCMA fan Village and the Canadian Country Music Association Awards in Calgary last September.  This return to the country circruit was preparation for Tim’s upcoming 2020 spring and fall tour that was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

For now, Andrew and is enjoying quality time with his wife, Suzie, and their young son.  He is also using this “downtime” to write and explore new music out of his home-based studio in Burlington, Ontario.
